Samsung’s latest smartwatch, the Gear S2, seems to be quite a hit in South Korea. Sources are confirming that some stores are reportedly running out of stock, due to robust demand ! The company has been selling an average of 2,000 Gear S2s daily, which is twice as much as they did for the Gear S last year. Sales of the 3G variant of the S2 account for almost half of the sales, with the standard S2 and Classic accounting for the rest.
“The Gear S2 is cheaper than Apple Watch and has earned good reviews in terms of design and weight. Rumors that it might also support iOS are attracting more consumers,” an industry source said.
The Gear S2 has been reviewed by U.S. market tracker Strategy Analytics as the most attention-grabbing smartwatch launched in the second quarter that could threaten Apple Watch’s market presence. (Yonhap)
