South Korean smartphone giant Samsung Electronics will soon launch its latest Tizen-powered Z4 smartphone in South Africa. The Z4 would follow in the footsteps of the Z2 that was also released in September last year in the country. According to our source, the Z4 will be available via Vodacom South Africa with an R1299 (~$100) price tag.
The Samsung Z4 is particularly suited for users who desire a new smartphone that offers ease of use and is efficient on power. The device is the first Tizen phone which runs on the Tizen 3.0 operating system with its intuitive interface, offering a smoother and faster performance.
The hardware of the Z4 model that would be released in the South African market is expected remains the same as the one first announced as heading to TDC 2017 and later released in India. As a reminder, the Samsung Z4 features a 4.5-inch WVGA LCD display with 2.5D Gorilla Glass. The device is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor backed by 1GB RAM with 8GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD.
On the camera aspect, the Z4 packs a 5-megapixel main camera at the rear and a similar 5-megapixel selfie camera up front. The phone comes with various features which are tailored to add perfection to your photos like Live Beauty Effects and Profile Templates. The camera also comes with an option to take pictures in a smarter way through the Palm, Auto, Voice Selfie and Flip Video options. Furthermore, it comes with dual-SIM support as well as 4G LTE connectivity, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB port, and a 3.5mm audio jack, among other features. Keeping the lights on is a 2,050mAh battery which should be adequate for an extended use, coupled with the Ultra Power Saving feature of Tizen OS that is also found in the company’s Android-powered smartphone lineup.
As stated earlier, the Z4 is tipped as hitting South Africa via Vodacom SA with a price tag of R1299 (approximately $100). The device will be available in Gold colour and may come with a data bundle offer from the mobile carrier. We expect the device to go on sale within the next couple of weeks.
