The Samsung Z1, despite being an entry level smartphone has received quite a lot of software updates ever since its launch, back in December 2014. One of the recent major software update that was released in February this year in India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal took it to Tizen OS 2.4.0.2 (Z130HDDU0CPB1) from Tizen 2.3 bringing in a lot of under the hood changes and in turn making the platform more stable. Following that, the device received a minor 2.9MB update taking it to version Z130HDDU0CPC2.
Now, the smartphone has received yet another minor update of only 4.1MB, bringing it up to version Z130HDDU0CPC4. The changelog mentioned in the update states the following:
- Device stability improvements, bug fixes
- New and / or enhanced features
- Further improvements to performance
However, apart from this changelog mentioned, the update is expected to bring along voice calling functionality for Whatsapp. The Samsung Z3 had also received an OTA update recently to make it compatible with Whatsapp calling, so its safe to say that the 4.1MB update now available for the Z1 will probably do the same thing.
