Samsung Z1Receives Software Update to version CPD5

 
The Samsung Z1 was the companies first Tizen based Smartphone and has done well in sales even though it has only been launched in the Indian market at the moment. Today, this linux based wonder has received yet another software / firmware update, taking it to version CPD5 / Z130HDDU0CPD5.

The update is fairly small, measuring in at only 20MB. The changelog mentioned in the update states the following:

  • Device stability improvements, bug fixes
  • New and / or enhanced features
  • Further improvements to performance

 

Kies Update

The following is the procedure to use to update the firmware using the Kies desktop application:

  • Launch the Kies App on your Desktop
  • Plug your Smartphone into the Desktop
  • You should get an option to update your software
  • Manually check by selecting Tools -> Firmware Upgrade and Initialisation

 

Manual Check

If you do not get automatically prompted to update your firmware on your smartphone, you can manually check by using the steps below:

  • Select Settings
  • Select About Device
  • Select Software Update
  • Select Check for updates
