Samsung is slowly starting the launch of the Tizen based Samsung Gear S globally , and have also started selling it in South Korea, which happens to be known as Samsung’s HQ. What is interesting is that the South Korean’s seem to like the Gear S, and the thought of a Mobile phone merged with a wearable device as over 10,000 units of the smartwatch were sold on launch day alone.
The Gear S went on sale on 5th November by local carriers SK Telecom and KT, and potential sales are thought to be as much as 20,000 units in the last week.
The Gear S has a a 2″ Super AMOLED display, dual-core Exynos processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, UV Sensor, Barometer Sensor, Heart rate Sensor, Compass, a SIM Card Slot and a 300mAh battery. You can use this Smartwatch to make phone calls and also to access the Internet thanks to its 3G modem.
