Samsung Electronics have released a new updated version of its Robot vacuum cleaner POWERbot in Korea. Earlier models of this device were initially shown off at the Tizen Developer Conference 2014 in San Francisco, but now the Operating System has been updated to Tizen.
POWERbot is the latest addition to Samsung’s Smart Home range of devices and can be controlled by installing the Smart Home app and connecting via WiFi
You can set POWERbot to either automatically clean all accessible areas of the house, or you can command it to clean a specific area by remote controlling it with directional commands. You can schedule cleaning to be carried out at specific times / days and the Robot has enough Intelligence to know when it is running out of power and will charge itself from the nearest charging point.
“Connecting with smartphone POWERbot showed better connectivity in Samsung Smart Home products. We will continue to bring innovation into the daily life of products to enhance the user experience,” said Park Byong-dae, vice president of Samsung Electronics for household appliances division.
