Samsung Pay is a mobile payment solution pioneered by Samsung Electronics that lets users pay with compatible devices. It works with normal credit card machines with Near Field Communication (NFC) and Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST). Now, it has been announced the amount of South Korean users of Samsung Pay has reached a whopping seven million!
A company called WiseApp has collated all of the usage data of Samsung Pay and have said that some of the 6.95 million users that use smartphones with the Android OS have used Samsung Pay at least once in the past month. Statistics have also shown that the number of users of Samsung Pay has been increasing gradually over the months where it only had 4.47 million users last year. The research conducted was based on twenty-three thousand South Korean Android users.
This tracker (WiseApp) also said that Samsung Pay were mainly used during lunch times by people mainly between the ages of 30 and 40 but there were also 20-year-olds using Samsung Pay (only 20 percent).
