Samsung Pay now lets users in India pay their bills

On the 6th of March, 2017, Korea’s electronics giant, Samsung mobile launched its payment service in India. The payments service, Samsung pay app which enables contactless digital transactions is now available to users in India.
Samsung continues to improve and add more features for users in India. It added support for UPI payments via Bharat QR codes. The updated version of the Samsung Pay app introduces the Bill Payments feature. It allows users pay their mobile postpaid, DTH, electricity bills, and utility bills using Samsung Pay. It also enables users to add money to their mobile wallet directly from their preferred card. Users can also save IFSC information and bank account details of their friends and family in UPI to make money transfer easy.
The Samsung Pay app will be available to users of Samsung S7 Edge, S6 Edge Plus, S7, A series 2016 and 2017, and Note 5. Sorry, no news on a Tizen app or smart watch support at the moment. It will also ease bill payments as it will be available on Visa, Mastercard and Rupay payment cards. Samsung Pay can be used for transactions at ICICI, HDFC, Standard Chartered, SBI and Axis banks.

Making use of the app is simple. First, the Samsung smartphones will be updated to the latest software, after which users can open the Samsung Pay app and link their bank credit/debit card accounts or Paytm. Transactions can be made with Samsung smartphones by swiping the pay service from the bottom of the screen. The screen will offer options for accounts or cards to pay from. The user chooses the card and brings it close to the POS (point of sale) machine. After entering the amount needed for the transaction, the machine connects to the payment gateway and asks the user for the bank/ATM pin. Entering the PIN completes the transaction. The Samsung Pay app is going to be a lifesaver for those who leave off paying a bill until the last minute.
