Samsung pay is swiftly and steadily growing. It is currently active in many banks and shopping centers globally. This payment platform is compatible with many Samsung devices ranging from smartphones to wearables. We reported earlier that about 600 Landmark stores across UAE and India now accepts Samsung Pay. Two weeks ago, RAKBANK became the first bank to introduce Samsung Pay solutions for ATMs in the UAE and the entire Middle East. Now, Lulu and Union Coop Hypermarkets are the latest shopping centers to adopt Samsung Pay system.
Samsung Pay and Visa reached an agreement to give UAE shoppers this simple, convenient and secured digital payment system for a limited period when they shop at Lulu and Union Coop Hypermarkets. Groceries and other necessities can now be paid for using Samsung Pay in these hypermarkets. These shopping centers have established branded checkout counters, however, this service is limited to Visa cardholders for now.
Mohammad Gharaibeh, Head of Enterprise, and Mobile Business at Samsung Gulf Electronics said
“This recent partnership to introduce Samsung Pay with Visa at Lulu and Union Coop Hypermarket for a set period is a representation of our commitment to providing our customers with a safer, smarter and better mobile wallet” He added, “Samsung smartphone users will now be able to make convenient contactless payments at their favorite hypermarkets. This partnership will make cashless payments easier and simpler for everyone. Our goal with Samsung Pay is to drive and lead innovation in the digitalisation of payments systems throughout the UAE.”
There will be 65 brand-new Samsung S8 smartphones to be won by Visa cardholders. The criteria for winning this smartphone is either paying via Samsung Pay at the store counter or by playing the game on Visa’s Facebook page. This is part of the Samsung Pay campaign as a result of the Visa – Samsung Partnership

Samsung Pay service is secured and it uses the current Near Fields Communication (NFC) coupled with Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) technologies. Shoppers can securely pay for their purchases using their Samsung smartphone or smartwatch. This payment platform is available to many Samsung Tizen mobiles which are available in the Middle East.
