Samsung’s mobile payment service-‘Samsung Pay’ is being actively used by a lot of consumers on a daily basis and has been one of the strongest competition for Apple’s ‘Apple Pay’ mobile payment service. Samsung Pay is currently available in some of Samsung’s high end smartphones as well as on its wearable devices like the Gear S2 and the Gear S3, the latter also happens to be the first wearable to support MST based payments. Samsung Pay wii be supported soon in 13 countries which includes the likes of US, UK, Canada, Brazil,South Korea, Australia, etc and more countries are being added to this list. The service currently supports over 500 banks, credit unions and also has support for numerous loyalty, membership and gift cards.
In order to expand the active user base for Samsung Pay as Christmas and other festivities are nearing, Samsung recently introduced a Reward system for Samsung Pay called Samsung Rewards. Just like the rewards system in most digital wallet services, the new Rewards system on Samsung Pay will award users with points for every purchase they make via Samsung Pay. Samsung also added that Credit card users will be getting points or benefits issued by their respective banks as well as from Samsung Rewards. Debit card holders on the other hand will most likely be receiving points only from Samsung Rewards.
Users who transact via Samsung Pay on a frequent basis will be awarded with double, triple and even quadruple points as part of Samsung Rewards loyalty tier. If you haven’t used Samsung Pay so far, then this might be right time to use the service as Samsung is awarding double the points to new users who transact via Samsung Pay in November. As part of redeeming these points, Samsung stated in a press release-
Users can then redeem their points for Samsung products, vouchers for Samsung.com, Samsung Rewards Visa Prepaid Card value, and gifts cards to some of the country’s leading retailers. Users can also be eligible for additional prize giveaways – called “Instant Wins” – that include things like trips to Napa Valley and Las Vegas that surprise and delight.
