Last week has been a busy week for Samsung. The Galaxy watch was launched, their new flagship wearable device, as well as the Galaxy Note 9, but I’m sure you already knew that.
Today, it’s the turn of the Gear Sport to have a little limelight as it receives a new software update, version R600XXU1ARG1 / R600AXXU1ARG1, weighing in at 15.92MB. The Tizen platform version is 3.0.0.2. The main improvements seem to be charging stability and also security, but there is nothing specific mentioned regarding the security. This seems similar to the update that was released for the Gear S3 last month, which also addressed battery charging issues.
What’s new
- Improved stability. – Charge the battery Algorithm
- The security of your device has been improved.
The Gear Sport was the first watch from Samsung to support 5-ATM – meaning the device is water resistant up to 50 metres in depth for 10 minutes. Specs wise it is powered by a GHz dual-core processor, 4GB internal storage for music or pictures, 768MB RAM, and has a 1.2-inch 360×360 Super AMOLED display.
This update is currently rolling out in the Netherlands, but we expect it to reach more markets over the coming days/weeks. You should get notified about an update, but you can manually check by launching the Samsung Gear app on your phone and go to Settings » About Gear » Update Gear software to download the update.
