Samsung Gear S2 Smartwatch Available Nationwide in the US on 2 October

 
It’s official, Samsung Electronics have just confirmed that the Gear S2 Smartwatch will go on sale this Friday, October 2nd in the US. The Tizen based Smartwatch is the Next Gear device to take on the consumer wearable market and features a touch screen with an Innovative rotating bezel, with home and back buttons.
The two versions to hit the market will be the Gear S2, which will be priced at $300, and have a sporty look to it and available in silver & dark silver. The other is the Gear S2 Classic, which will feature a leather strap and have a more refined “Classic” look to it, and will be priced at $350.

“We designed the Gear S2 with the speed of today’s life in mind. It is technology that helps you stay dialed in to what is important to you – without sacrificing your sense of style,” said Alanna Cotton, vice president, Mobile Computing at Samsung Electronics America.

The Gear S2 will be available at select retailers at launch, including Samsung.com, Amazon.com, Best Buy and Macy’s. Consumers can get hands-on with the Gear S2 exclusively at Best Buy and Macy’s Herald Square on October 2, and at an additional 50 Macy’s stores nationwide beginning October 16.
The Gear S2 will also have major apps at launch including Bloomberg, CNN, ESPN, Nike+ Running, Samsung Milk Music and Yelp. Samsung will continue to work with developers and partners to enrich its wearable ecosystem. The version of the S2 that can connect to 3G and 4G version networks will be made available in the fall, with availability at AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless. U.S. Cellular will carry the Bluetooth only version.
