Its been a while since we have had a Samsung Gear S Firmware update, or does it just feel like it to me? well it looks like the latest firmware update is being pushed out in Germany (possibly other countries) as we speak via a Over The Air (OTA) update.
According to a tweet by Florian Schaub he has downloaded version R750XXU1BOA7 which is a 32.3Mb update. At first glance he says there doesn’t seem to be any obvious feature changes, so its probably mostly operating system improvements.
We will keep checking to see if our UK version of the Gear S gets an update.
Manual Check
To manually check for a firmware update, do the following:
- Launch Samsung Gear Manager
- Scroll to the top of the screen and select Gear S
- Select Software Update
- Select Update Now
- Select Ok if you are happy with the notice displayed
- Follow the onscreen prompts if you got the update
