Samsung preparing a “Unpacked Event” to launch Tizen Smartphones in Russia and India

It looks like Samsung is preparing to launch its first smartphone carrying the Tizen Operating System (OS) in Russia and India. The Wall Street Journal is hearing from its sources that Samsung is currently planning a Samsung Unpacked type of event to launch Tizen, with it being timed roughly the same time as the Tizen Developer Conference in June, but thats what they think 😉
Also planned is the launch of Tizen in India, which is another territory that Samsung feels it can compete with Google and Apple, especially on mobile software and associated services. We are excited about Tizen being released in India, as the country represents our 5th largest readership, and also has many talented and committed application and games developers. For your information, the US is out largest readership.

According to an executive of Samsung, Tizen will forever remain a top priority for their companies. Chosen emerging markets such as Russia and India because Samsung does not want to fail Tizen smartphone on the market, so they choose the area in which they already have mastery and control are dominant.

We have recently seen Tizen begin its move into commercial devices with the release of the Samsung Gear 2 Smart watch, and a whole array of Samsung Tizen smart camera’s, and even the Tizen car, but the real excitement for this ecosystem is the thing that binds all these technologies together, the Smart phone!
