It’s a new year but the Pokemon TCG Pocket content is still coming thick and fast. After the introduction of the Mythical Island pack, there’s a new event to kick off more additions to the Promo-A subset.
This one is focused on one of the fan-favorite Pokemon—Blastoise—and you’ll need to partake in some solo battling to get this new card variant.
Below, we’ll run you through everything you need to know about the Blastoise Drop Event in Pokemon TCG Pocket so you know what you’re up against on your path to secure more cards.
Pokemon TCG Pocket Blastoise Drop Event: What you need to know
Just like the previous Drop Events we’ve experienced so far in Pokemon TCG Pocket, this Blastoise one is centered around solo battling, pitting you against AI opponents to net yourself some rewards.
There are four tiers of solo battle, starting with Beginner and ending with Expert, increasing in difficulty as you progress. The Battle Tasks also get a bit more tricky with restrictions such as a deck with limited rarities which when completed, allow you to earn some extra goodies.
Event Stamina returns so keep that in mind before burning through the battles. You can get specific Hourglasses to gain additional stamina and these are rewarded as part of those aforementioned Battle Tasks.
Once you win a battle, you’ll have the chance to secure a Promo-A Vol. 3 pack which contains one card and one card only.
This can be one of five Pokemon, with the chase being the Blastoise alternate art promo. The full list of Promo-A Vol. 3 cards are as follows:
- Blastoise
- Cinccino
- Eevee
- Snivy
- Volcarona
The packs offer a 1 in 5 chance of each card so technically you could pull any of the cards, including Blastoise in your first pack, if luck is on your side that is.
You’ll have until January 15, 2025 to do this so you’ll have a bunch of time to grind out the solo battles, securing as many packs as possible, giving you the best chance of getting the full set.
