The original Samsung Galaxy Gear 1 was released with an Interesting cut down version of Android, and now a mere 6 months down the line we have the Samsung Gear 2 released running Tizen, and dropping the GALAXY brand. Going forward anything released by Samsung with the word “Galaxy” in the name will be Android, and anything without will hopefully be Tizen.
Samsung did confirm to TechRadar that they would be bringing Tizen to the Gear 1, but without any timescales or official announcement, it was easy to dismiss. What can’t be dismissed is the fact the guys over at Sammobile have got their hands on a test build of Tizen for the Samsung Galaxy Gear, and are having fun with their now Tizen Gear 1.
