OnePlus Buds Pro 3 release date: Everything we know

The company behind the OnePlus Buds earphones have announced the launch date of its newest offering, the OnePlus Buds Pro 3, after rumors have been swirling for some months.

Almost all the details had already been leaked over the last few months, but the actual release date remained a mystery.

On Monday (August 12), OnePlus surprised everyone and dropped a promotional photo on X (formerly Twitter).

“Our finest audio offering yet – some meticulously balanced notes on the horizon!

“The #OnePlusBudsPro3, dropping August 20.”

The product will be available from 9am EST, 2pm BST, 3pm CEST, and 6:30pm IST.

Some online retailers have even accidentally published product pages featuring the earphones, so it’s just a matter of time before people can purchase them. These have since been removed.

It was in February of 2023 that the Chinese-based company revealed the second generation of the pro version. At the time, they described the product as being ‘bolder and better,’ with the third variation now likely to beat the old specs.

What we know about the OnePlus Buds Pro 3

The team has kept the details under wraps, probably aiming to showcase the earphones completely on the launch date.

But, rumors suggest the buds will look almost identical to the non-pro version, but with the stems made out of polished metal and the base matte. It’s just the charging case which is expected to be different according to reports.

An editor of a Samsung-focused publication shared images of the new earphones and suggested the price would be €199 in Europe.

The actual prices haven’t yet been confirmed, but the OnePlus Buds 3 are $99.99 and the OnePlus Buds 2 Pro are on the online store for $179.99. With that being said, the European pricing seems to be in line with what would be expected for a new Pro release given the price of the former version.
