One of the recent casualties of Nokia’s recently announced Job cuts was the Ulm research facility that was home to 730 people. Once of the projects that was being worked on was Meltemi, the Linux based OS that was destined to bring new vigour to its low end smartphones and in the process connecting the next billion.
Well looks like the employees realise they have more to offer the world and won’t take this all lying down. Welcome to Project KYVYT:
In response to our recent Ulm site closure announcement from Nokia HQ, we (the employees) openly invite you to discover our world of talent on offer,” a flyer on their new website reads. “Welcome to Project KYVYT’.
Are you interested on taking on a light weight Meltemi-like OS ? Well, you might be in Luck as the whole team might be up for grabs.
