Nigel Farage is favorite to be next UK PM, but Musk says “he doesn’t have what it takes”

According to the odds, Nigel Farage is the favorite to be the next Prime Minister of the UK. But the American entrepreneur, Elon Musk, has stated he “doesn’t have what it takes.”

In his less than glowing post on X about Nigel Farage who has been Leader of Reform since 2024, Musk said: “The Reform Party needs a new leader…”

The 60-year-old British politician has been involved in the party for some time now, as he was the leader from 2019 to 2021. He co-founded Reform which was previously called the Brexit Party.

While the next general election in the UK isn’t scheduled to be until 2029, with the previous held on July 4, 2024, Nigel Farage is currently being backed favorably on the Betfair Exchange to win the most seats.

This would be a stark difference to what was seen before, with Reform only having five MPs currently in the House of Commons. In comparison, there are 402 Labour MPs, 121 Conservative politicians, 72 from the Liberal Democrats, along with a number of other groups.

The Betfair Exchange has the Reform leader at 4.5, while the Conservatives’ Kemi Badenoch is 6.2.

Elon Musk’s post about Nigel Farage was spoken about in Parliament

Farage was photographed last month with Elon Musk at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort, sparking rumors that a donation to Reform could possibly be made. Shortly after, Musk published his opinion on January 5 and the Reform leader took some heat in UK politics.

The current UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said: “I think we all had a smile on Sunday when the Honorable Member said how cool it was to have the support of Musk, only for Musk to say [he] should be removed just a few hours later.”

Farage and his fellow party members sat there laughing as they took the comments from other politicians.

This isn’t the first time Elon Musk has spoken out about politics across the pond, as this has now become a regular topic on his social media platform. The Tesla-CEO has become very vocal about the current Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
