Suunto Oy is a Finnish company that manufactures and markets sports watches, dive computers, compasses and precision instruments. They have now launched the ‘3’ Fitness Smartwatch. This watch is not only a smartwatch and a fitness tracker, it also provides a unique training to the wearer. This training program is said to adapt itself as you progress.
Design and Feel
The Suunto 3 Fitness watch has a great design, it comes with a metallic bezel around the display, giving it a premium look. The watch is said to be extremely lightweight, However, the Heart Rate Monitor protrudes a little bit and presses into your skin, just like the latest fitness wearable from Samsung, the Gear Sport. The device is waterproofed up to 30 meters, thus it also supports swimming. The watch consists of 5 buttons as the screen is not touch sensitive.
The watch also comes with various options for different styles, colors, and materials, allowing you to pick a particular look and feel of the watch. Even though the screen size is decent, it is basic when it comes to the display resolution and color reproduction. It’s not going to dazzle you with quality, and the low power screen needs to be angled in the light just right to give you the best view.
An Entire week on a Single Charge?
The company claims that the watch will last an entire week on a single charge, which is just impressive. The watch offers almost 80 pre-loaded fitness profiles, thus allowing you to use the watch for various activities. The watch will use the inbuilt Heart Rate Monitor to monitor your fitness level, this along with your overall exercise history, the watch will automatically come up with a Seven-day training plan.
Even if you miss a day of exercise, or work-out a little more, the watch will adjust our plan accordingly. The watch will give you heart-rate based feedback during all exercises, so you can always be sure you don’t overexert yourself. The device will also keep track of the calories and the number of steps taken and present it in an easy to understand summary.
The watch comes with a NEW Suunto app for your smartphone, which helps in storing and syncing data as well as sending notifications to the watch. The Suunto 3 Fitness will be available from the Spring in Gold and All Black color finishes with stainless steel bezels for £199, or Ocean, Sakura and Black colors with polished stainless steel bezels for £169.
