Want to do a better job of working together but don’t want to run some desktop-oriented software? Then consider a new suite of mobile social apps available for your smartphone from DoubleDutch Software called HYVE Enterprise Suite.
The suite includes seven different mobile social apps intended to be used by specific workgroups within the enterprise. They bring the concept of check-in to projects, customers, and other workplace objects. Users interact with the apps by tapping – not typing — on an object and then the software generates analytics. This socializes all sorts of stuff in the office, to obtain a lot closer analysis of which customers and projects are taking the most staff time, and also see what are broken workflows or places where resources are inappropriately allocated.
They have previously developed event management and check-in mobile software and two of the apps are already available: Events and Engage. The five new ones include apps for sales and CRM, field-service activities, orientation for new hires, project management, and volunteer activities. All are location-aware and designed for a wide variety of Android, Blackberry, WebOS and iOS devices. They are also all HTML5 native too.
The apps all have connections to LinkedIn, Twitter, Yammer and Salesforce Chatter to share the social graphs of those networks. You can sign in with an existing account so a user doesn’t have to re-create their bio, and can push out various check-ins back to those networks. The whole suite has a similar look and feel and method of operation to Foursquare, with the kind of workgroup collaboration that could be found from Socialtext. The difference is that HYVE handles projects, not restaurants and airport locations.
Of course, to get to this level of granularity, you need to have people really perform the various check-ins contemporaneously with their actions, which might be difficult for non-Gen Y’ers who barely can remember to bring their phones with them at critical times.
Even so, the suite of apps has the potential to bring distributed work teams closer together, and replace a lot of email traffic. Costs start at $10/seat/month for the suite.
