Novell has a new version 5 of its Operations Center hybrid cloud management software.
New to this version include automated configuration management, being able to federate the content management database to manage standard configurations, community management features allowing multiple users to update a common repository, and integration with Amazon’s EC2 deployments with an array of existing Novell cloud products including ZENworks, PlateSpin Recon and NetIQ AppManager. Pricing varies depending on the number of servers monitored and other variables. The software runs Java 6 Runtime Environment on a variety of Windows and Linux servers and can be deployed on virtual machines as well.
Attachmate bought many Novell assets, and I’m glad to see them continue to invest in this piece of their business.
