It’s nearly time to take to the skies once more. When Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 first came out during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Locked-down PC users rushed to buy every peripheral on the market and lapped up the new breed of flight simulator. This was then followed by an Xbox release that brought the hobby to a brand-new audience.
Now, after four successful years Microsoft and Asabo are taking everything they learned and mixing it like a fine cocktail barman with the latest technological advances (there have been a lot!) and are almost ready to release Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, with all it’s new modes and planes, into the sky. It’s an exciting time as anybody who wants to get into it for the first time will have no shortage of peripherals this time around with Moza, Virpil Controls, WinWing, and many more all readily available – although expect a rush on them once more, so it may be worth planning ahead.
We have already seen though that some of the pre-order versions of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 are not on the cheap side, to say the least, so will you be able to play it for “free” with your trusty Game Pass subscription? Let’s have a little look shall we?
Is Flight Sim 2024 on Game Pass?
The good news from the off is, just like the 2020 version, MSFS 2024 is going to be available on Day One – that’s 19th November to you and me.
The version you get on Game Pass is the Standard Edition, which will be fine for most folk. If you want any of the extras you will have to pay up.
The other thing is, if you are unsure of buying a copy outright though, is that the original version has remained on Game Pass since Day one, so there should be no real fears about it vanishing further down the line, potentially leaving a bagful of DLC you may have bought with no game to play it on.
So, you can actually pre-install the game now as well so that you can be sat on the runway ready and waiting to be one of the first to take off when the day comes around.
