Instagram Reportedly Eyes Private Messaging

You might soon be able to privately message your Instagram friends. The company could launch new private messaging features in the next version of Instagram to compete with the likes of Snapchat, GigaOm reports

The success of third-party messaging services like instaDM proves that users want to privately connect with one another in the app. So creating its own message feature would be a logical move for Instagram.

If true, the popular photo- and video-sharing application will be the latest social app to focus on in-app messaging. Instagram didn’t reply to a request for comment.
