The news of a possible successor to the super affordable Samsung Z1 has recently been making rounds around the internet. Now, an import data listing by eximpulse of the Tizen based smartphone has been spotted heading over to Samsung’s R&D centre in Bengaluru. The successor of the Z1, which had been recently confirmed to bear the model number SM-Z150H can be seen listed in the import data. The price per unit of ₹4807.6 ($72) gives us a clear idea that Samsung won’t be making any significant changes to the price of the retail unit of the Z1(2016) compared to its predecessor which was initially launched for ₹5700 (and currently sells for ₹4000).
The import data also shows spare parts like rear and front assembly parts, batteries and covers for the Z1(2016) being sent to Bengaluru’s R&D center. Another import data shows that a device bearing the model number Z300F was also being sent over to Bengaluru on the same day. The Z300F is expected to be a 4G LTE variant of the Samsung Z3 which has made some good sales in India but came short in front of the Galaxy J series handsets in some areas like the absence of 4G connectivity.
It would be interesting to see how Samsung will market these upcoming Tizen based smartphones, as its Android counterparts in the J series are also lining up to get 2016 variants out soon, with the J7 (2016) expected to come with a decent mid-range specifications like an octacore processor, 2GB RAM and a metal unibody design.
Stay tuned for more news regarding the upcoming Tizen smartphones as the launch of the devices seems to right around the corner.
