HP’s first Chromebook went up for pre-order in April and was supposed to hit the market by June 10th but it seems that Best Buy has got it a little early. If you don’t know, Best Buy Co., Inc. is an American multinational consumer electronics retailer. HP’s very first Chromebook has actually got a detachable tablet. So if you get it, for the lovely $600 it will cost you, you’ll be able to take the screen off the keyboard which is quite cool in my opinion.
So, we know that Best Buy has got the Chromebooks early, but there have been some reports, of people who have pre-ordered, getting their Chromebooks delivered to them recently.
Specifications of the Chromebook
The Chromebook has a 12.3″ touchscreen that has a 2400 x 1600 pixel display. The processor is an Intel Core M3-7Y30 Kaby Lake and the computer has 4GB of Random Access Memory (RAM) and 32GB of eMMC storage. The 48 Whr battery should last you 6 hours and 42 minutes according to the Laptop Mag Battery Test. So, it isn’t that great compared to its predecessors. HP’s Chromebook has both a front and back camera – 5MP for the front and 13MP for the rear. It has two USB 3.0 Type-C ports, a headset jack and a microSD card slot. On top of all of that, we have the obvious detachable keyboard and the HP Active Pen. The tablet part of the Chromebook weighs 1.6 pounds and with the additional weight of the keyboard, we get a total weight of 3.1 pounds.
If you want to buy this Chromebook, but can’t pre-order it, there’s no worry. There’s very little time until this laptop is officially released to the market. If you have any suggestions on what to write on our site, contact us at [email protected]
