Since Fortnite Festival. Epic Games’ musical spin-off to its battle royale first arrived we have had six seasons to date, with each one headlined by a pop or music star of epic proportions (well mostly).
We have had Snoop Dogg, Billie Eilish, and even Metallica all digitized Fortnite style to headline the content and provide tracks for the game. Season 7 looks like it may be a little different however as it is going to take a virtual pop star (yes, that is where we are these days) in the shape of an Anime starlet in the shape of Hatsune Miku and bring her to the Fortnite masses, many of whom may never have heard of her – but that’s kinda the point isn’t it – attract existing fans and garner new ones. It’s almost genius.
After all who likes cute anime girls more than Fortnite’s army of teenage players?
Finders keepers?
Don’t worry, we’ll hold it for you backstage 🤭

Anyway, suspicions have been aroused for a day or two that Hatsune Miku was coming to the game when players started finding her backpack lying around. This has now been seemingly confirmed by a rather scripted pair of posts on X that would make the people who write the scripts for awards ceremonies think, “Wow that’s a bit corny.”
First up the official Miku account posted, “Miku’s backpack is missing, has anybody seen it?”
This led to a follow-up post from the Fortnite Festival account that replied, “Finders keepers? Don’t worry, we’ll hold it for you backstage 🤭”
When is Hatsune Miku in Fortnite Festival?
While Epic Games is yet to officially announce things, Fortnite leaker Shiina confirmed – if indeed you can confirm in a leak – that she will be appearing from the 14th of January – so not long to wait then virtual pop fans. And if you have no clue who Hatsune Miku is, Google is your friend.
Don’t forget you get the full Fortnite Festival music pass as part of this month’s Fortnite Crew subscription.
