Google announced a new device at their #Madebygoogle event yesterday, called the Pixel Stand, that you can charge your Pixel phone on wirelessly whilst its standing in a landscape or portrait position. Google had announced the product quite recently at their annual fall hardware event in New York City. It’ll cost $79 and is available to pre-order right now.
The unit is powered by a USB-C cable, supports fast charging and can charge any Qi-compatible device. The stand automatically changes the phones user interface and puts the phone in Do Not Disturb mode when a phone is placed on it during the night.
With the Pixel Stand comes the Pixel 3 phone that will be coming out very soon (October 18 to be exact). Typically, this dock is designed to be used at night, next to the owners’ bed. In the morning, the phone can be used for providing the weather, traffic, calendar entries/information and a special alarm that mimics sunlight to wake you up.
Users can rotate through photos from the favourite Google Photo album. The phone also pairs with Nest Hello so the phone, when docked, will alert and show you anyone that is at the door.
A quick look at the Google Pixel 3 Specs: the phone will be running Android Pie 9 and will have a 1440x 2960 screen resolution. Powering the phone will be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and an Adreno 630 GPU The battery is 3,430 mAh and the cameras are 12.2MP (rear camera) and 8.1MP (front-facing cameras) The phone will have 6GB of RAM and an internal storage of 64 or 128GB depending on which you buy.
I’m looking forward to the new Pixel 3 coming out very soon. Are you?
