Samsung announced a refreshed line up of wearables with the Gear fit2 Pro, Gear Sport and the Gear Icon X(2018) recently at IFA 2017, Berlin. Since then, the company has been rolling out the devices to its markets with pre-orders already live in the US and UK and shipping to begin within this week. The next market that these wearables are headed to happens to be Singapore.
Samsung Electronics Singapore introduced the new wearables at the preview of Galaxy Studio at The Plaza, VivoCity. It seems like Samsung actually wanted to sell the devices at a future date but in order to catch some attention of the media and consumers in general for the preview of Galaxy Studio, Samsung might have taken the decision to do a soft launch of the new wearables in the country. The company didn’t reveal any pricing or availability details for any of the new devices and promised that they’ll be made available from Q4 2017.
Lee Jui Siang, President, Samsung Electronics Singapore was quoted saying-
“We are heartened by the growing support from consumers, with a strong 84 percent of Note owners in Singapore stating that they would recommend the Note to others. Samsung will continue to introduce programmes like Samsung Rewards that bring greater value to consumers and we invite everyone to the Galaxy Studio where they can make new discoveries about how our innovations can better lives,”
