The Galaxy Fit e is now available in a certain amount of markets, Including the Netherlands. The strange thing is that even those some non-Samsung outlets are selling the fitness tracker, it’s not available from Samsung themselves. Today the device has received it’s first software/firmware update.
The Galaxy Fit e software update, version R735XXUU0ASD2, only measures in at 1.79MB, but does add some good basic functionality. The feature in question is Dim Screen, and as you can imagine, it adjusts the screen brightness to extend your battery life. You can actually specify what days you want the screen to be dimmed. So, on your training off days, you can have a dimmer device, and therefore extending its battery life.
Other Improvements are the ability to show a heart rate icon on the screen during exercise. I can’t help feel that this should have been one of those ‘out of the box’ capabilities, but, better late than never. Also, you will get ‘general stability’ improvements.
In the Netherlands, Bol and MediaMarkt have it on sale for €39.99 ($45). Both have limited supplies at the moment. If you order by 23:59 at Media Markt, you can have next day delivery. Very impressive indeed.
