Betas allow you to pick up some game time ahead of the official releases which is helpful not only for you in allowing for the learning of new mechanics but also for the developers who can test a variety of things.
Monster Hunter Wilds had a couple of fully-fledged Betas before heading to the full 1.0 launch and if you’re a fan of the franchise, you would have gotten as many hours in as possible.
Here, we’ll explore if all of your Monster Hunter Wilds Beta progress carries over so you can just pick up where you left off and have a little head start.
Monster Hunter Wilds Beta progress: Does it carry over?
Since there have been various Beta sessions for Monster Hunter Wilds, if you are even remotely interested in the game, you will have made an effort to put some time in.
So, will all of this progress transfer to the full game or will it be lost to the aether?
Sadly, Monster Hunter Wilds Beta progress does not carry over to the main game so any materials, weapons, armor, and ranks gained will be gone forever, resetting the grind.
However, there is one thing that can carry over if you wish — your character data.
This is because character data from character creation is actually stored on the Beta test servers, ready for you to use when you first load up the Wilds retail version.
This will save you a bunch of time going through the whole character creation process again so even though everything you’ve earned won’t be available, at least your hunter will be created and ready to go.
Something to note here though is that some have reported that the character carry over function isn’t 100% foolproof and has some issues.
What we recommend is to read through this page on the official Monster Hunter Wilds website for more information and hopefully you can avoid any hiccups.
