Disney Plus is now confirmed to be coming to UK Samsung TVs in the next 24 hours in the. As long as you own a 2016 or later model of a Samsung smart TV, you’re getting the long awaited App. We were supposed to receive the app on the 21st of March but the release date of Disney Plus was pushed back by a few days in the UK. We’ve made it this far, if we don’t end up getting Disney Plus tomorrow, I know a couple of kids who will throw tantrums.
Disney Plus offers access to piles of series, films and documentaries. You can get these in 4K resolution with HDR support. With the streaming service, you get multiple popular brands of entertainment. These brands include Star Wars, Pixar, Marvel and National Geographic.
Disney Plus – Rising in Ranks
The streaming service is quickly becoming a rival to both Amazon and Netflix. Due to this, we find it’s unlikely we will see more Disney movies on Netflix anymore. Last year we saw that Disney decided not to renew its contract with Netflix. This was an obvious win for Disney Plus but quite a big loss for Netflix. However, there are rumours that Netflix may gain a few movies back. One license that affects movies released between January 2016 and December 2018 suggests that the movies will be removed from Disney and returned to Netflix by 2026. 6 years left!
Like many other services, you get a free 7-day trial to see if everything is to your expectations (or better). After the trial, you get to subscribe to one of two subscriptions. The subscriptions are £5.99 a month or £59.99 a year. As you can probably tell, it’s cheaper monthly to pay for a year. But it all depends on how long you’re going to use the Disney Plus service for and whether you can afford it. I’ll let you decide which plan is better for you.
Some Samsung TVs will have the app pre-installed when you purchase them. If you find that you can’t see the Disney Plus app, you should be able to get it from the store.
