Email marketing platforms can offer some rather useful insight into what your subscribers do (whether they open your emails, click on links in them, etc), but if you want to understand more about who they are, some additional tools are needed.
Up-and-coming social marketing utility Flowtown just added Constant Contact to their list of email marketing platform integrations, giving small businesses another powerful tool with which to analyze their subscriber lists.
Flowtown takes a list of email contacts and shows you demographic information about each person, as well as a list of any social networking profiles they may have. For example, if a subscriber has profiles on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Twitter, Flowtown will link to those accounts. Do they have an Amazon wishlist? Flowtown lets you check that out too. It even gives an estimate of their social media influence using sources like Klout.
Constant Contact is an email marketing provider geared toward small businesses and nonprofits. They currently boast over 350,000 customers.
