Black Ops 6 New Zealand trick: How to play the game early

Fans have been waiting some time for a brand new Call of Duty title from Treyarch and it’s clear the developers have gone all out with this game, providing a lot of content to get through.

Naturally, you’ll want to get stuck in as soon as possible to experience not only the fresh take on gameplay but also to start progressing toward those 100 Percenter Calling Cards.

Here, we’ll discuss how you can play Black Ops 6 early, utilizing something called the New Zealand trick, since the release time for the game varies depending on time zone.

How to play Black Ops 6 early using the New Zealand trick

The ‘New Zealand trick’ that is used to access a bunch of different games early works once again with Black Ops 6.

This involves changing some settings to make it look like you’re based in New Zealand rather than where you’re currently based, since the game is available earlier than any other in that region.

For Call of Duty games, you will need to change this in two different places, which make it a little more complex than other titles.

Read on for how to do this on multiple platforms so you can get into the new Black Ops 6 experience earlier than most.

How to play Black Ops 6 early on Xbox

Your first port of call to getting Black Ops 6 running early on Xbox is to head to the Call of Duty website and log in to your Activision Account.

The reason why this is first is because you’ll need to change your location here before doing the same on your Xbox.

Once logged into your Activision account, go to the Basic Info section and change your location to New Zealand.

You will have to input a New Zealand address but this can be randomly generated using tools found across the web.

Once saved, go to your Xbox and enter the console settings. Here, look for the System option and look for Language and Location.

Change this to New Zealand and hit restart to confirm your region change.

You should now be prepped to load up Black Ops 6 when it launches in New Zealand!

How to play Black Ops 6 early on PlayStation (PS4 & PS5)

Contrary to Xbox, there’s a little less messing around with the Black Ops 6 New Zealand trick on PlayStation consoles.

Instead of having to adjust your PS4 or PS5 settings, you can simply just change your Activision account region and you’ll be good to go.

Log into your account via the Call of Duty website, head to Basic Info, change your location to New Zealand, and you should be able to play straight away.

How to play Black Ops 6 early on PC

You can use the Black Ops 6 New Zealand trick on PC but this is limited to those of you who are playing via PC Game Pass, Steam or Battle.net will not work.

Again, similar to that of Xbox, you’ll have to go into your Activision account and change your region to New Zealand in the Basic Info section.

Now, open your Windows Settings and change your Country or Region in Time & Language to New Zealand also.

Restart your PC and you should be fine to play Black Ops 6 when it releases in New Zealand.
