The Asus C302 was a formidable Chromebook and can even hold its own against many other newer models. Now, its time for its successor, the Asus C434 is ready to take up the reigns and it is
The Asus C434 weighs in at 1.45Kg and measures 20.2 x 32.1 x 1.6 cm. This is a 14-inch
Storage wise you get 128GB eMMC, which is considered quite reasonable in the Chromebook world. There are 2 x USB 3.1 Type-C as well as a USB Type-A connector. You also have the inclusion of a microSD card slot and a 3.5-audio jack. For WiFi we have 802.11ac and Bluetooth is 4.0.
To round off you get a full-size qwerty keyboard with 1.4mm travel. The keyboard is quite similar to the Asus C302, so lots of people will already feel at home with this one.
The 14″ display is 1920×1080 resolution and rotates a full 360-degrees and therefore allows you to fold it back and use it in a tablet-style mode. Asus has done a unique thing of making a 14″ display possible in what is normally a 13″ housing by implementing their NanoEdge display technology. The Asus C434 has only 5-mm thin side bezels and 7mm bottom bezel. The finish on this unit is a “Spangle Silver”, but more looks like silver to me 🙂
