Asus C434 8GB Chromebook Version now available in the US

Back in January 2019, at CES 2019, the Asus C434 was announced by the Taiwanese company. The C434 is the successor to the quite successful C302. We have seen the device begin shipping in the UK and the US, but this was for the model supporting 4GB RAM. Today, the Asus C434 8GB Chromebook has begun shipping in the US. This device obviously runs Google’s Chrome OS.

Many users have held off purchasing the Asus C434 4GB model, as they have felt it won’t perform well for them. The Asus C434 8GB Chromebook version is better suited to those that are looking at running lots of Chrome Tabs. The more Tabs you open the more memory the operating system reserves. You will be surprised how many the 4GB version can do, but a power user might find the performance a bit “Jittery.” Other users that might appreciate 8GB are those wishing to run large Linux or Android Apps/Games. Power users who like to multitask to their heart’s content will also appreciate the additional amount of RAM.

The Asus C434 is a 14-inch touchscreen 1920×1080 featuring ultra-narrow bezels – 5mm thin to be precise. This allows a 14-inch screen to fit in the body of a 13inch laptop. The display has a 360-degree hinge that enables owners to use the laptop in tent, stand, and tablet mode. This is what makes it a 2-in-1 laptop. Under the hood, we have an Intel Core m3-8100y Processor (Up to 3.4 GHz). 8GB DDR3 RAM; 64GB eMMC storage and 2x USB Type-C (Gen 1) and 1S Type-A (Gen 1) ports.
