Big game time for Game Pass subscribers today, especially if you are looking for something that is going to while away those dark nights. The terrific Assassin’s Creed Valhalla lands on Microsoft’s game subscription service later today, following hot on the heels of Hell Let Loose and Close to the Sun which have already become new additions for 2024.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla rebooted the series when it was released in 2020 and became the second most profitable title in Ubisoft’s history at the time. The Viking setting helps, everybody loves Vikings and Ubisoft brings the world of Valhalla to life with some great storytelling and open-world exploration here.
Start it downloading and get ready to spend the next 100 hours immersed in Norse mythology and folklore.
Also arriving today on Game Pass is Figment, a stunning, surreal puzzle game that is new to Xbox, but has been around the block on other systems for a while. If a slower pace and a bit more gaming of a cerebral style is more your forte, then be sure to check it out when it drops a little later on today.
What’s coming to Game Pass in January?
Besides the four great games we have already mentioned, January is certainly not finished yet with another monster hit next week in the shape of Resident Evil 2 Remake set to scare the living daylights out of you a few days after the excellent Super Mega Baseball 4 and We Happy Few.
- Super Mega Baseball 4 – January 11th
- We Happy Few – January 11th
- Resident Evil 2 – January 16th
- Those Who Remain – January 16th
There may well be a few surprise games added to the list as the month goes on as Microsoft is never averse to dropping some surprise titles to keep us on our toes. Either way, we have plenty of new stuff to get into at the start of this year.
