Instagram is used by millions of users worldwide to share images and videos via Posts, Stories and Reels. The app is arguably one of the most popular social media platforms. While users can create and publish Stories with a plethora of effects, texts and music, there is one limitation.
The platform does not allow users to save Instagram Stories with music natively on Android devices. You may have noticed the same if you have tried to save an Instagram ‘Story’ before or after publishing it. The video gets downloaded without audio. However, using a few tricks, you can easily achieve the same which is akin to a cheat code for Instagram.
To achieve the same, users can either save the Story like they usually do and then send the same to their contacts. The music can then be re-introduced when sending the story and then the Story can be saved with the music intact.
A simpler method is to create a Story directly within a DM on Instagram while messaging someone. You can add music to the Story, send it, and then save the Story with the audio included after it has been sent.
Steps to download Instagram Story With Music
- Open the Instagram app on your device.
- Open any chat in your DM list.
- Tap on the camera icon located on the bottom left corner of your screen.
- Choose an image / video or tap on create. Finish creating the desired Story.
- Add the music of your choice.
- Ensure the “Keep in chat” option is selected at the bottom-left corner of your screen.
- Click on “Send”.
- After the Story has been sent, click and hold on the same.
- Tap on the “Save” option to download the Story to your gallery with the music intact.
To add music to an older story that has already been published, users can go to the Archive section, locate and download the story, then send it as a direct message (DM) on Instagram. While sending the story in a DM, they can follow the same steps to add music as described earlier. Once sent, the story with the added music can be saved.
