WeChat is a free messaging & calling app that allows you to type text but also let’s you perform voice & video calls, and the good news is that, according to our sourcesm, it’s going to be released on Tizen very soon. This would be the third high profile messaging app to run on Tizen, with WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger being the first two.
At the Tizen Developer Summit in Shanghai 2014 Tencent, the makers of WeChat, announced they would be amongst the new chinese companies providing software support to Tizen. For those of you that are unfamiliar with this application it currently has over 500 Million users worldwide and provides apps for mobile devices such as Android / iOS / Windows Phone / BlackBerry and also desktop Mac / Windows / Web WeChat.
WeChat is also an application that enjoys a huge following in China and also in Asia in general, so the launch will fit in with the upcoming Tizen Developer Conference.
