HP Delivers Two OpenStack Services

Today HP announced a private beta program for its Cloud Compute and Cloud Object Storage services based on Open Stack. This is their first implementation, and follows on their announcements last month about joining the consortium, which we first covered here.

While this isn’t new, it is noteworthy that HP is actually delivering what they promised earlier this summer. The two offerings allow you to deploy on-demand compute instances and customize them to handle particular workloads, and also scalable on-demand storage units. Both of these services have Web interfaces to set them up, similar to most of their cloud-based competitors. To register, visit www.hpcloud.com but visit soon as they are limiting the number of beta requests.
