Summer is indeed coming to a close, but to help soften the blow, ReadWriteWeb has compiled a list of four essential technology conferences for small business owners and professionals coming up this month. New York Times Small Business Summit
Sponsored by American Express Open, the New York Times Small Business Summit promises to “explore the next steps of social media marketing and how best to navigate a new economic and legislative landscape.”
Speakers include reknowned social media guru Shiv Singh of PepsiCo, Jerry Greenfield of Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream, Polyvore CEO and former Googler Sukhinder Singh Cassidy, and David Liu, CEO of wedding media mini-empire The Knot, Inc, among others. The keynote speaker will be Robin Chase, CEO of ZipCar.
With a speaker list like that and session titles like “How Innovation Drives Business in Challenging Times” and “Leveraging the Digital Space to Grow Your Business” this conference is sure to be loaded with valuable insight.

BizTechDay
BizTechDay is bicoastal gathering of entreprenuers, business leaders, journalists and government representatives with the goal of providing “an intensive one-day experience where entrepreneurs meet to inspire and be inspired by each other.”
The conference, which will take place in both Seattle and New York City this month (with a third date in San Francisco next month), will feature of entreprenuers and big thinkers. Those attending the Seattle event can look forward to hearing Cheezburger Network CEO Ben Huh and Colleen McCreary from Zynga, Squidoo cofounder Megan Casey, among others. The New York event will feature authors Clay Shirky and Seth Godin, along with Meetup founder Scott Heiferman, Gymoree founder Joan Barnes and a host of others.

Small Business Technology Tour
Most of the Small Business Technology Tour will take place across the United States in October and November, but it kicks off on Sept. 28 in Mountain View, CA. Hosted by smallbiztechnology.com, this traveling conference of business tech insight has an impressive line-up of small business technology experts and big name sponsors.
