Kakao, the maker of KakaoTalk, South Korea’s top messaging service have said that it will sync its AI platform with Samsung Electronics smart appliances so as to make the operation of smart devices seamless. The implication of this collaboration is that users can easily control their Samsung air conditioners, vacuum cleaners and washing machine using Kakao I. Also, an order can be placed right from Samsung Family Hub refrigerator. For the first time, users will be able to turn the air conditioners remotely from their cars.
Kakao further stated that this compatibility between Kakao’s AI and Samsung smart devices will not be static. With time, it will evolve and users will only need simple orders to activate multiple tasks at once. Last month, the South Korean internet company said that it will sync its AI platform (Kakao I) with Bixby. Capitalizing on Samsung’s plan to make all its home appliances with smart features in the next three years, Kakao is preparing to make sure that its AI platform is ready to take-on other third parties to further develop new products and services.
