HERE WeGo, the navigation app for the Samsung Gear S3, has had an update that brings with it two welcome features – public transit information and also a companion mode for your Samsung Galaxy smartphone.
Only released a couple of months ago, the HERE WeGo for Gear S3 app provides you with navigation straight on your wrist without the need to reference your smartphone. With the recent update, you get even more functionality with the introduction of Public transport information that also includes real-time transit updates for trains, buses, trams, ferries and more. This is exactly the same Information that you will find on the Android and iOS version of the app.
Using public transport is about what bus you need to catch, when and also where you need to catch it, so the app can navigate you to your bus stop – also works for other forms of transport as well. You’ll have access to timetables so you can plan when it’s the best time for your journey.
“Even though the display size of the Gear S3 can appear small,” says Alex, “it’s actually big enough to use comfortably. We changed the properties of the map so the font sizes became a little bit bigger, so you can see better, and it can easily display enough data to be understandable.”
The update also brings with it companion mode for your Samsung Galaxy smartphone. With the app installed on the smartphone, you’ll be able to mirror the navigation offered on your Gear S3. Features like recent places, making searches even faster, and you can use the larger screen if you need to.
