The Samsung Gear S2 is the latest, and greatest, Smartwatch created by the korean company to date. The device comes in a few different looks; there is the sporty looking Gear S2 in silver and dark silver, the Gear S2 classic which as the name implies has a classic look to it. Whilst attending the recent Tizen Developer Conference 2015 I got hands on with the device and boy ….. I was not not disappointed.
The Gear S2 has a new circular watch face with a hardware rotating bezel, home and back buttons. Pressing real buttons has a satisfying feel to them as they have plenty of tactile feedback and the bezel actually vibrates slightly to confirm your actions. Using the bezel you get to see your screen without having to cover it with your fingers to swipe, a simple but highly effective idea. Users can accurately navigate lists & inputs and have less errors to contend with.
Samsung have done a good a job of the user experience as you can easily arrange the applications widgets as you wish and that lets you customise the device to fit in how you work / play. All the pre-installed apps on the S2 has a clean professional look to them. You can really tell that Samsung has taken its time refining these.
Enough of the talking, onto the Hands on video:
