Following the launch of the Tizen based Samsung Gear S, Samsung have not wasted any time in releasing an update to the Tizen wearable SDK, which adds Gear S support in version 1.0.0 Beta 3.
There is also new documentation which covers:
- Hello Accessory Developer’s Guide<
- Programming Guide
- How to design apps on Tizen Wearable devices with multi-resolution
- Guideline on Testing Gear applications using the Emulator
- UI Design Guidelines for Gear 2
We also have new sample applications, such as: Hello Accessory, Gallery, File Transfer and Applications for Emulator.
The Gear S will be released in a matter of weeks now, and this move will help app developers make sure their applications are ready for the new screen resolution, new sensor APIs, Rich notifications and enhanced standalone features of the Gear S.
Samsung now have SDK’s for the Tizen Smartphone, Tizen Wearable and Tizen TV, but it is hoped that they can roll all of these into one SDK, and therefore require only one installation. We wait to see what happens on this one.
