The Xiaomi Mi Watch is Official with a new Surprising Feature

Finally, after weeks of people trying to guess features of the Xiaomi Mi Watch, the smartwatch has finally been unveiled! This is the first smartwatch to get the Mi branding and it follows the Mi Band fitness trackers.

Any Cool Features?

The Xiaomi Mi Watch will launch with LTE, GPS and NFC. As well as this, as you may know from rumours, the Mi Watch will run the Wear OS – but not exactly as we have come to know it.

Instead of the normal version if the Wear OS, Xiaomi have built their own custom platform that they have named MIUI for Watch which is based off Wear OS.

The Design of the Mi Watch

The smartwatch has a 44mm square face with a 1.78-inch AMOLED display that has a resolution of 410 x 410 pixels. If you haven’t been able to see already, the smartwatch looks a lot like the infamous Apple Watch series. This is something that many people have been saying since the designs of the smartwatch have gotten out.

However, it’s not just the square face of the Mi Watch that screams the Apple brand. It’s also the fact that the smartwatches share the same crown, button, speaker and mic placement. To be honest, I’m wondering why Xiaomi would design their smartwatch like this.

One comparison between the Apple Watch and the Mi Watch is that the Mi Watch is supposed to outlast the Apple Watch – at least on paper. The Mi Watch is claimed to last 36 hours even with LTE on. I think we have the 570mAh battery to thank for that.

On the inside of the smartwatch, we can see that the smartwatch is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 3100. This is the latest version of their processors. This fact may not be true for much longer due to the fact that there is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 3300 being rumoured about.

So far, the Xiaomi Mi Watch is only exclusive to China. The smartwatch will be released there on the 11th November for CNY 1,299.
