The second season of Severance is already off to a flying start as it received rave reviews and a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The mind-bending office drama will return on January 17 on Apple TV+, with the first two episodes launched on that date. From there, a new episode will be released weekly.
Ahead of the official launch date, Apple TV’s best sci-fi show has secured the best score possible on the critic and review site – scaling to 100% on the ‘Tomatometer.’
Over 40 critics have weighed in with their views on the dystopian thriller, with the high praise promising another season of existential dilemmas.

Gaining a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes is no easy feat either, with only a number of shows having been dubbed the ‘best’ through its iconic rating format.
Other TV series to have reached 100% include Modern Family: Season 1, The Bear: Season 1, Only Murders in the Building: Season 1 and a handful of others.
The first season of Severance, which was launched in February of 2022, is sitting at 98% on the ‘average tomatometer’ and 88% on the ‘average popcornmeter.’ The popcorn metric focuses on the percentage of users who rate the show or film 3.5 stars or higher.
Will Severance Season 2 help to propel Apple TV+ forward?
The show sits on Apple’s streaming service, Apple TV+, which features exclusive Apple Original shows and movies. This second season, following on from the beloved first season, could bring in a number of interested people onto the platform.
This comes after the company has seen years of losses from its streaming service, with competitors like Netflix having grown a huge lead in recent times.
In a Bloomberg article from July of last year, the report states Apple had spent more than $20 billion to produce “original TV shows and movies that not a lot of people watch.”
At the time, the service was said to be attracting just 0.2% of TV viewing in the US with Apple TV+ generating less viewing in one month than Netflix does in one day.
While previous years appear to not have been so favorable for the company, the results of Severance Season 2 could potentially pull in a crowd due to its rave reviews.
