MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Symphony Teleca Corporation, the global innovation and development services company, today announced that it has enhanced its portfolio for In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) to the latest available GENIVI® Compliance specification. The company will be showcasing its Works with GENIVI™ connected car portfolio and GENIVI-compliant solutions, including the Symphony Teleca InSight Connect™ (OTA) at the OPEN Automotive 2014 exhibition, presented by the GENIVI Alliance in Detroit, MI on October 8, 2014.
As In-Vehicle Infotainment systems become more complex in order to keep up with evolving consumer demands, GENIVI compliance has become a critical requirement among automakers and their suppliers in selecting new IVI systems and software.
Symphony Teleca offers automakers and their suppliers a proven, robust, GENIVI-compliant In-Vehicle Infotainment solution to reduce project risk, improve time to market and ease development of customer IVI systems. Furthermore, Symphony Teleca is addressing the increased market demand for a common standard to achieve lower time to market, while enhancing its portfolio for In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI), by making available an Automotive Grade Linux (AGL), Tizen-based IVI solution. The Tizen In-Vehicle Infotainment software platform is designed to enable rich internet and multimedia consumer experiences for vehicles. Automotive Grade Linux (AGL) builds on top of Tizen IVI and adds key applications developed in HTML5 and JavaScript into a single open source reference platform.
“Providing automakers and their suppliers with a robust, compliant In-Vehicle Infotainment solution for building the next generation of IVI systems and services has become a necessity rather than an option,” said Dean Miles, Senior Vice President, Automotive, Symphony Teleca. “GENIVI compliance demonstrates our continued commitment to GENIVI and the automotive ecosystem to accelerate the standardization and innovation of the connected car.”
The Symphony Teleca IVI solution has been architected to allow easy integration of additional Works with GENIVI™ components, including Symphony Teleca InSight Connect™ Over-The-Air Software Update Management solution, and Symphony Teleca Ethernet AVB, In-Vehicle network solution.
“As a recognized early adopter and supporter, Symphony Teleca has demonstrated strong contribution through the Works with GENIVI initiative,” said Philippe Gicquel, GENIVI President. “As GENIVI is shaping the future of open source IVI systems and expanding its footprint in the marketplace, the addition of a compliant solution from an industry leader like Symphony Teleca will help further drive GENIVI’s mission of open innovation.”
