Super S Cinema by Samsung enters the Guinness Book of World Records

Back in July 2017, Samsung Electronics installed the world’s first projector-less commercial Cinema LED Screen at Lotte Cinema World Tower in Korea. The Cinema LED Screen is designed to create a more captivating and vibrant viewing experience. Dubbed as Super S,  the technology provides next-generation picture quality and true-to-life audio to the viewer. It is a collaborative project by HARMAN Professional Solutions and Samsung Audio Lab.
Recently, Lotte Cinema announced that the Super S has been listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s largest cinema with LED screens. With 96 LED cabinets, the Super S has a screen size of 10.3m x 5.4m. It has a brightness of 146 foot-lambert (FL) – about 10 times that of the typical projection lamp – and supports HDR. Samsung has paired its Cinema LED Screen with state-of-the-art audio technologies from JBL by HARMAN.

With the inclusion of Super S, Lotte Cinema now has two Guinness records. In 2014, Superplex G cinema by Lotte became the largest cinema screen in the world. By using the power of Super S, Lotte Cinema looks at ways to customize the cinema with various purposes. “We will try to change the content of the cinema from just a place to watch movies to other content like sports, games or concerts,” the company said.
