Today, the Tizen Store launched its paid service in Peru and Bolivia, which suggests these two countries will now see the release of a Tizen smartphone in order for developers to monetise their apps. At this point, it could possibly be a Samsung Z2 or Z4 that gets released.
A new variant of the Samsung Z2 mobile, model number SM-Z200M/DS, has already been spotted at the FCC, and a Samsung Z4 model number SM-Z400F/DS has also made its FCC appearance. These Tizen devices have already received their WiFi certification, Z200M WiFi, Z400F WiFi and Z400Y WiFi, with the usual connectivity b, g, n; WPA, WPA2 and WiFi Direct.
The Tizen Store now offers its paid service in 11 countries – India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, South Africa, Indonesia, Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Peru, Bolivia. The Samsung Z2 was Initially launched in India, South Africa, Nepal, Kenya, Indonesia.
Samsung seems to favour the 4″ WVGA screen size for lower end smartphones and most likely we will see it powered by a 1.5GHz Quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal memory, MicroSD capability (up to 128GB), Dual SIM support, 5 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, VGA front camera (possibly better). Yesterday, the User Manual for the Z4 was found online showing a front facing LED, as well as dual rear facing LED’s.
